The Life of Chandler Mulvaney. All rights to laugh and have fun are NOT reserved.
As you can probably tell, I am not ashamed to take selfies with my Hereford cattle and various pet friends I meet along each day's journey.
My name is Chandler Mulvaney and I am currently a college student at Auburn University planning to graduate this coming summer, August 2016.
I grew up on a family owned and operated Polled Hereford cattle farm in Opelika, Alabama. I am blessed to be the 4th generation of my family to continue raising cattle and being an active member of the agriculture community.
I have an older sister and brother, Katlin and Cameron who both are just as awkward and awesome as I am. In all seriousness, they both created avenues for me that I am thankful to have followed in and created the opportunities to witness and glorify His kingdom throughout my everyday life.
Growing up with cattle and many other various animals, I never truly understood the love for cattle until I was approximately 15 years old. Before that, I had spent countless hours in the barn, practicing reasons for my 4-H livestock judging team, giving speeches, preparing for my upcoming Chef 4-H demonstrations or even being a part of my state forestry judging team. Despite all of these experiences involving agriculture, I didn't recognize the importance of the role a farmer plays in society until I was 15 and in high school.
I remember vividly reading an article by a local Hereford producer who had said the following, "If you aren't going to be committed to something, you might as well not be committed at all." This quote resonated with me and instilled in me a passion to gain a greater understanding of the animals and community (agriculture) that I had spent so much time in already.
From that point, I was blessed to finish out my showing career as of last year (I aged out), served as one of five National Beef Ambassadors traveling the country and serving as the spokespersons for the 700,000 cattleman and ranchers nationwide, being selected as a team member of two consecutive Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Student Advisory Team's, all while being one of the 40 AFA Global Fellows through a once-in-a-lifetime program that identified 40 students from across the country to be equipped with leadership skills and extracurricular opportunities during our four year collegiate career.
Because of my love for agriculture and my desire to be a lifelong learner that glorifies God in all that I do, I have created this website to allow for friends, family and anyone else to join along in my journey and see where God sends me next.
On Faith Alone I Stand,
Chandler Mulvaney
