Hello!
Hi!
How ya doing?
My name is Chandler Mulvaney and I love life. It’s really that simple. Yeah, sometimes things happen in life that make me feel unmotivated and sad, but every time that happens, God is right there encouraging me to get back up again and have another go with a new start, to a new day. I am a 21 year old college student attending Auburn University, still living at home (saving money) and doing my best to glorify God for those who I interact with on a daily basis. Our lives are intended to be filled with color. The most beautiful and descriptive colors that God has blessed us with seeing, interpreting, and witnessing throughout our time here on earth. You might say, "But Chandler, your website is so bland."
Well, I intend for my words to be told through the pictures and videos I upload that will provide you with the insight as to who I truly am. With that being said, I pray and hope you find my colorful life as an inspiration and tool that you can use as to why you should live your life colorfully filled through God.
Early Years
I grew up right outside of Auburn, Alabama in a small community called Beauregard on a purebred Hereford cattle farm, called Chapel Hill Farms. My parents, Don and Janet, my older sister, Katlin, and brother Cameron, have always supported me and helped me become the man I am today. My parents were the result of 4-H kids growing up in the Midwest. My dad, was one of eight children who grew up outside of Springfield, Illinois and raised pigs through 4-H and FFA. My mom on the other hand, showed Hackney ponies in East Lansing, Michigan through 4-H. Eventually, my parents met at Michigan State University while both attending classes and were married before moving to Auburn, Alabama, where my dad accepted a position doing research and teaching animal sciences and muscle biology. Shortly after, three Mulvaney children were a part of this world and my parents decided to homeschool all three of us. Wow! Talk about commitment! Katlin, Cameron and I were all homeschooled at home until I decided to make a go at competitive baseball playing at the high school level. So, I attended Beauregard High School my 11th and 12th grade years, graduating May of 2012. Throughout our years growing up on a small cattle farm and being homeschooled, we were able to have the freedoms to explore endless opportunities and develop creative minds that I am overwhelmingly thankful for.
College Life
Since then, I have made it through 3 years of college successfully! Wahoo! It feels great to say that! But, through that time I have grown and matured as an individual more than I could have ever imagined. I spent my first two years attending Chattahoochee Valley Community College, its much easier to say "CVCC," and had an absolute blast driving 35 minutes one way to classes four times a week to sit through classes all day, literally ALL day. But, I was able to learn quite a bit throughout my time and involvement at CVCC and our school Concert Choir that I sung in for two years. (You will find that I like using metaphors to describe learned outcomes). I learned that your journey may start out rough, not knowing what notes to sing or hit properly but through determination and persistent behavior every day, the music is sung in a beautiful and purposeful manner that glorifies God. Now to me, I was able to take that lesson and apply it when I started classes at Auburn University the fall of 2014. I had a rough go making new friends and staying focused in my classes but eventually made it through my first semester alive. After a short Christmas break, I started my second semester this past spring and was able to better manage my class schedule, picked up a few beautiful friendships along the way and have been able to make my time at Auburn into a piece of music that is nearing its completion and sounding quite pretty I might add. (Still a few notes that are throwing me off, those notes being unfinished classes...but I'll get there). So, I have made my mind up to finish strong and complete my Agriculture Communications degree at Auburn and will graduate sometime in 2016 and then get a job! Exciting!!!
My Unwritten Life
This by far is the scariest and most challenging words to write because my plan has never been successful. It's always been up to Him. But, I am reassured knowing that His plan for my life will be written in such a way that is more beautiful and deeper than I can ever imagine writing myself. So, I choose to trust Him.
In life, I have always believed in several quotes and bible verses to lead my life.
First, I read a story when I was 11 years old highlighting a old Hereford producer in Tennessee. He said the following, "If you aren't committed to something, you might as well not be committed at all." For the longest time, I saw these as the words that empowered me and made me the man I am today. but ultimately, I made a few mistakes by being over committed and losing some very important people along the way, forgetting to value my friendships over the personal commitments I made that only benefitted myself.
So now, I value five words more than any other. "On Faith Alone I Stand."
These five words first appeared to me when I was about 15 years old and still singing soprano in my church choir. I heard a song named "On Faith Alone I Stand" written by Robert Pierre, a Christian singer who was the same age as me. I forgot about his song growing up and recently discovered it while doing some cleaning last fall. I played the song and found a renewed joy in knowing that my faith in God is the strongest foundation I can ever have in this life and those words are what I choose to be reminded of while going about my daily life now.
I can't tell you enough that I am still scared and sometimes worry about my future, but I am always led back to the thoughts that God will lead me out of any troubles and world driven fear by placing my faith in Him.
My Family
This is my family. I am standing on the left, Katlin (sister), Don (otherwise known as Dad), Janet (my momma), and my brother, Cameron. Oh and yes...our cat "No Name" decided to join us for pictures that day.
